Modern Hierarchical Deterministic Crypto-wallets that utilize BIP39, generate and provide their users with a 12 word recovery phrase. These words belong to a 2048 long English Wordlist, and this recovery phrase is important for gaining complete access to Crypto-wallet. It is commonly advised to keep this phrase safe, leaving the user of a wallet with a variety of possible options to storing or memorizing this phrase. Instead of using a conventional technique of memorization, a new system is developed to satisfy the importance of keeping passwords stored in physical or digital form.
In this thesis, a serious, open-world, explore and collect game, named Mnemonic Maker 2D, is proposed as an alternative memorization system. Based on the Method of Loci memorization technique, the game's world acts as a Virtual Memory Palace, with a unique 2D JRPG style where you control a character to collect items placed in the VMP. The item locations are static, meaning that all users will have the exact same experience when it comes to locating items, but since every user will have a unique recovery phrase, the route that everyone will take in the game is going to be unique. The game features 2 main game modes where the user can either learn a route while being assisted by a built-in Pathfinding system or roam freely and collect items to reconstruct a recovery phrase. With the development of this game, the goal is to offer an innovative way of password recollection, with an ambition to replace the conventional learn by heart method of remembering passwords.

Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to evaluate this game.
During practice mode you will be assisted in-game in order to find the items needed to recreate your recovery phrase. If you don't have a recovery phrase, you can use Mnemonic Code Converter to generate a unique phrase as if you had a Crypto Wallet. Select 12 words in the dropdown window, next to GENERATE button, then click the button to get a phrase in the "BIP39 Mnemonic" text area.
Once you select the 2nd option in the introduction screen of the game, you will be asked to input your recovery phrase. After doing so you can continue on by click the green button on the top-right corner. Please take the appropriate measures to secure your phrase, since you will have to use the same phrase for the next days.

If this is your first day of evaluating the game, then please make sure that you remember the location of all the items you collected, as well as the order, the color and the time of day you collected it. Everything is important in order to recreate your unique recovery phrase. It is advised to spent up to 2 hours playing in the practice mode using the same recovery phrase until you are somewhat comfortable with the route.
If this your second or third day of evaluation, then you probably already have a basic route in mind, so please take 10-15 minutes to do a run in practice mode and try not to use the Pathfind tool, unless you are stuck on an item.
On the third day of evaluation, after doing a practice run, restart the browser and this time select the 1st option in the introduction screen. Then head to the "Normal Mode" tab to finalize and fill out the second Form. You can opt to fill out the first Google Form, if you haven't done already.

If you are attempting normal mode, then you probably have followed the instructions correctly, and are on the third day of evaluation. Congratulations.
This time, you will have to collect the 12 items, using the route you have made over the past two days, and without the help of the Pathfind tool. When you collect all 12 items, the key button will appear, showing the recovery phrase you created. At this point you should have saved somewhere the correct recovery phrase, and are able to check if it matches.
In case you have the wrong phrase extracted, you can try to reorder the items in your inventory or possibly collect a different one, if you feel like you forgot something. This interaction is important in evaluating how this game can work as a secondary tool to help you memorize your route/phrase. If you failed to extract the correct phrase please make sure to report it in your Google Form response.
You can now finalize your evaluation of the game, by answering a few more questions in the second Google Form. Thank you.

In the 2 YouTube videos below, you can see a showcase of the game using both modes. In the first video I will be entering my mnemonic phrase, that I want to memorize in game. For the purpose of demonstration I will be getting a random mnemonic phrase of 12 words generated from Mnemonic Code Converter. Then I will be utilizing the Pathfinding tool inside the game, along side the game map to find the locations of the items that recreate my mnemonic phrase. After the recording of the first video, I spent some time repeating the process until I felt comfortable enough to throw away my mnemonic phrase, leaving me only the option to recreate my mnemonic through playing the game on the normal mode. In the second video (make sure to enable subtitles since I will be going over my actions in my native language), I am starting over this time selecting normal game mode, in which the game itself has no recollection of who I am or what my mnemonic might be. The game world is set and static for every user and will always remain the same and there is no data saved locally from previous attempts. In the normal game mode, the player is allowed to collect whichever item he wishes, and only when every slot in the inventory is filled, then the player has the option to extract a mnemonic phrase based on which items were collected, as well as the order that they were collected. As showcased in the second video, I was able to find all the items without the assistance of the game, purely using my memory and tricks that helped me remember the location and order of my items. The process of collecting the items in normal mode took approximatelly 7 minutes.
